New to forum (Fish river ) April 1, 2015 Spent most of life in calif fishing lakes for bass and rainbow trout. I have a boat and fished fish river and reef to left and right in mobile bay coming out of weeks bay. Some days I catch fish on fish river, other days nothing. Looking from advice to catch fish consistently in fish river. I love the area. I usually use live or dead shrimp or strike king swimming grubs /minnows. Interested o n specks and redfish and white trout. Any and all info and tips appreciated. New Member 2015 December 21, 2015 Hello members, I am a long time resident of Mobile and enjoy fishing the bay and inland areas for redfish, speckle trout, flounder; rivers and lakes for bass and crappie. I have fished very little over the past 20 years but, I'm getting ready to retire soon and plan to return to fishing for enjoyment when the mood strikes. Maybe a little golfing when the fishing is no-so-good. I recently purchased a new boat and I'm really looking forward to being on the water again catching nice fish. The Mobile Saltwater Fishing Club seems to be a great place to share fishing information and learn new tips. Thanks to all! Stay out of the water at burns lake landing! August 27, 2014 My dad took his chocolate lab to the landing this morning to let her swim and she was eaten by a huge alligator right in front of him. White trout July 27, 2014 Am I the only one having problems catching white trout since the oil spill? I used to slay them in the Little Lagoon, but lately they are not biting at all. I usually fish with gulp shrimp. I don,t seem to be able to find them on the Reefs in Mobile bay or in perdido bay. Is it just me or is everyone having this problem. Neighbor has a house planted on his dock May 2, 2014 OK, we all know how bad the rains were this week and the flood waters were a huge problem. Living on the fish river, I count my blessings daily that the Good Lord led me to this great place but strange things do happen. My upstream neighbor has a house implanted on his dock that was washed down during the flood waters. It is a huge problem for him and he has no idea how to get rid of it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to help him. I fear that he'll try to cut it up and let it float free which will only make navigation for the rest of us a big problem. I sure understand his dilemma but I sure don't want him turning his problem into our problem. Any thougths? Club Get together. May 4, 2011 So when and where to have next club meet n greet? I still think it would be cool to do it out on the water. If I ever finish putting sisters yacht back together that would give us 2 counting the PP. with bathrooms and kitchens for users and needs. If everything is pre cooked than just heat and eat. Debris March 19, 2011 First Post so I hope this comes out OK. Just wanted to give everyone a heads out about the debris in the bay. I've noticed a lot of debris in the lower bay this week from the rains upstate. Lots of sticks and logs to tree stumps floating in the lower bay. Some pretty dangerous types. Keep a sharp eye out. Not the Trilene knot Alan November 26, 2010 Looking through the knot reference link for a few new ones and found out I told a mistruth. The trilene knot it shows is very different indeed as it wraps the line not the hook. It took me 30 years to be corrected I guess, but I couldnt find the knot I taught ya last trip. Where to catch flounder? July 29, 2010 As all of you guys know, I fish offshore mostly. Since i cant do that right now I thought I'd try to catch some flounders. Im not asking for any ons favorite spot or any thing but just where and when do i go to maximize my success of catching a few.
