AMRD officers conducted an undercover operation regarding the illegal sale of red drum, spotted seatrout and other saltwater fish. An individual was issued citations for the following:
-Sell saltwater gamefish- Class B misdemeanor with a minimum fine of $1000.00 
-Sell seafood without a license- Class A misdemeanor with a minimum fine of $1000.00

Anglers are reminded that the sale of red drum, spotted seatrout, striped bass (caught in the saltwater jurisdiction) and tarpon is prohibited in Alabama. Additionally, the sale of any seafood requires the fish be harvested by a licensed commercial fisherman and be sold through a licensed Alabama Seafood Dealer.
