Can anyone give me some information on fishing the oil rigs in Mobile Bay?  What fish can I expect to catch and what is best bait?  Also what about artificial reefs in Mobile Bay?

The rigs are good for redfish, specs, croakers, white trout, flounder, black drum & sheepshead.

As far as bait, live shrimp will catch them all.  Specs like small pogies and croakers too.  Fresh dead shrimp is good bait too, but leave the frozen stuff home.

Jigs also work great. Berkely Gulps are the big craze right now too.

Same story for the reefs.

Best way to learn is to go and fish them.  Try out different techiques and baits. Just make sure to keep an eye on the winds.  And always fish when the tide is moving.  No current normally means no bites.
