OK, we all know how bad the rains were this week and the flood waters were a huge problem. Living on the fish river, I count my blessings daily that the Good Lord led me to this great place but strange things do happen. My upstream neighbor has a house implanted on his dock that was washed down during the flood waters. It is a huge problem for him and he has no idea how to get rid of it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to help him. I fear that he'll try to cut it up and let it float free which will only make navigation for the rest of us a big problem. I sure understand his dilemma but I sure don't want him turning his problem into our problem. Any thougths?
That is certainly a different type of issue to deal with. Wonder if the county or maybe the fire department might have some ideas on that.
I'll be in the area tomorrow helping an elderly couple clear out their house that got flooded. My wife and a couple of her friends have been washing clothes, linens, towels... for the past couple of days for two households who were flooded.
I was down looking at it this morning (the muck is terrible!) and this house is low in the water and pushed under his dock between the pilings. What a predicament.
Call the County, not sure if its EMA or Building Dept, but someone should have some advice. Either way, the original owners insurance is on the hook for the bill. .

Saw a large barge out there today removing a boat. Wonder if the crane on it could handle it? Perhaps worth a call to the Coast Guard for advice based on the potential hazard to navigation.
We removed furniture from a flooded house today and helped the owners clean mud from inside.
